In vanilla EAW I like to go rebels and with the republic at war mod I like to go CSi Basically I build a lot of infiltrators and raid strategic point early, I abuse turrets also, I like it when I barely conquest a planet, then the ennemy send reinforcement to recapture and loose a lot of units to all the turrets I built If you want a conquer the galaxy Star Wars game then yeah Empire At War is exactly that, although I am not exactly sure what itch you are trying to scratch.
